Cuiabá allocates R$ 2.4 million to philanthropic education entities

The City of Cuiabá, through its Municipal Education Secretariat (SME), has released R$ 2,481,364.52 as the fifth bimonthly transfer to 21 partnered philanthropic entities. These funds are designated to support early childhood education services within the municipality.

The payment includes a complement of R$ 162,105.46 from a previous transfer to account for an increase in the number of children being served. This partnership supports 2,206 children in full-time enrollment, including 1,483 in daycare (ages 0-3) and 723 in preschool (ages 4-5). Additionally, the funding covers special education services for 504 individuals of various ages through specialized centers such as the Instituto dos Cegos do Estado de Mato Grosso, Apae Cuiabá, and Associação Petalozzi de Cuiabá.

Municipal Education Secretary Reginaldo Teixeira stated that collaborating with philanthropic organizations is a strategy to expand the availability of spots in early childhood education, acting as a support system to increase the municipal network's capacity to meet existing demand.
