Cuiabá and Mato Grosso plan Orla do Porto revitalization

The Government of Mato Grosso and the Cuiabá City Hall are coordinating a contingency and revitalization plan for the Orla do Porto. The state government is currently developing a project that includes repairing gabion containment structures, replacing damaged flooring and tiles, and improving lighting throughout the area.

The project also includes a general intervention in the Museu do Rio building. Officials expect the project design to be completed by the end of September, with the goal of contracting the works by the end of the year so that construction can begin next year.

In the interim, the Cuiabá City Hall is focusing on security measures, including the installation of monitoring cameras at the Mercado do Porto and surrounding areas. The municipality is also evaluating management options for the region following the renovation, including the potential for private sector concessions to handle maintenance and operations.
