Cuiabá announces maintenance for 30 schools ahead of rainy season

The Cuiabá Municipal Education Department has identified 30 educational units across various regions of the city that require maintenance ahead of the intensified rainy season. The repairs aim to mitigate issues such as roof leaks, structural reinforcements, and the replacement of old roofing materials.

The identified schools are distributed across the city's regions: 10 in the East, nine in the West, eight in the South, and three in the North. Repairs are expected to be completed by mid-November. Work is already underway at three specific locations: Emeb Octayde Jorge Silva, Emeb 8 de Abril, and Emeb Profª Guilhermina de Figueiredo.

Education Secretary Reginaldo Teixeira stated that the priority is addressing roof issues to ensure safety and operational continuity, though subsequent work will address drainage, electrical installations, and accessibility. Teixeira is currently conducting inspections across the city's 172 educational units, with approximately 40 visited to date.
