Cuiabá authorities recover body of 12-year-old boy from Cuiabá River

The body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered by the Mato Grosso Military Fire Department near the Sérgio Motta Bridge in Cuiabá. The child had disappeared while swimming in the Cuiabá River with two other children.

Search efforts began on Friday after the boy submerged and vanished. Operations were initially hindered by low water visibility, unfavorable weather conditions, and strong currents. Following the discovery of the body on Saturday morning, the Civil Police and the Official Forensic and Technical Identification (Politec) were called to perform necessary procedures.
