Cuiabá BRT station construction enters final phase
Construction of the Centro Político BRT station, located in front of Shopping Pantanal in Cuiabá, has entered its final stage. This station is part of a larger Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system designed to connect Cuiabá and Várzea Grande through 23 planned boarding and alighting points.
The Mato Grosso government is investing R$ 120.8 million in the construction of these stations. Currently, 24% of the total work for the station network has been completed, with construction already underway at 18 of the 23 planned locations. The system aims to provide faster and more regular travel using exclusive bus corridors.
The planned stations are distributed across major avenues, including FEB in Várzea Grande and XV de Novembro, Tenente-Coronel Duarte (Prainha), and CPA in Cuiabá. The new structures are designed to be accessible and climate-controlled, featuring level platforms to facilitate efficient passenger boarding and alighting.
