Cuiabá City Council enacts new laws and honors local figures

The Cuiabá City Council has promulgated several new laws and resolutions involving local honors and administrative changes.

Three ordinary laws were enacted: one naming the PSF III and IV health program in the Pedra 90 neighborhood after midwife Francisca Roberta de Jesus to recognize her community service; another officially adding the Festa de Nossa Senhora Aparecida to the municipal calendar of events; and a third revoking the municipal public utility status of the Instituto Ciranda – Música e Cidadania.

Additionally, City Council President Paula Calil has introduced a resolution to rename the legislative body's press room in honor of the late journalist Lauristela Guimarães. Guimarães was a prominent figure in Mato Grosso communications, known for her work with various radio, television, and print outlets, as well as her role in creating the bilingual Camalote magazine.
