Cuiabá expands mental health care with new CAPS facilities and electronic records
The municipal mental health network in Cuiabá recorded 29,758 CAPS attendances between January 2025 and April 2026 and added 2,724 new users. New centers were opened: CAPS Adolescer Maria José da Silva Rado for children and adolescents in May 2026, and CAPS CPA IV Dr. Júlio Strubing Müller Neto for the city’s north region in June 2026.
The city also introduced electronic patient records and new IT equipment for all three municipal CAPS, improving data security and workflow. The upgrades were highlighted by Health Secretary Deisi Bocalon as part of Mayor Abílio Brunini’s effort to strengthen psychosocial care since taking office in January 2025.
