Cuiabá expands social assistance activities for children

The Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) in Cuiabá have expanded their activities for children and adolescents, incorporating games, cultural workshops, and integration activities. These initiatives, organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, Human Rights, and Inclusion, aim to strengthen community and family bonds while promoting the right to play.

Cuiabá currently operates 14 CRAS units distributed across four regional districts. According to the Service for Coexistence and Strengthening of Bonds (SCFV) Information System, 396 children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17 were participating in the service as of September 2026.

Hélida Vilela, the municipal secretary, stated that these activities provide spaces for development and social protection for families in situations of vulnerability or social risk. High concentrations of service users in vulnerable territories include the Pedra 90, Osmar Cabral, Getúlio Vargas, CPA, Praeiro, and Jardim União units.
