Cuiabá faces extreme heat and potential storms

The Cuiabá Civil Defense has issued a meteorological alert for extreme weather conditions between Wednesday, November 4, and Monday, November 9. Residents are warned of a combination of intense heat, low humidity, and isolated storms.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 39°C and 40°C through Saturday, with thermal sensations potentially hitting 45°C. While heat persists through the week, a significant shift is forecasted for Sunday, when temperatures are expected to drop to 30°C accompanied by more intense rainfall. Monday is predicted to be sunny with a maximum of 33°C.

Regarding hydrological conditions, the Cuiabá and Coxipó rivers, as well as the Manso Dam, remain in a state of drought with levels below attention thresholds. Authorities advise the population to avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak hours, maintain hydration, and refrain from disposing of waste in drainage channels to prevent issues during storms.
