Cuiabá health unit celebrates 12 years of integrative practices

The Reference Unit for Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (URPICS) in Cuiabá is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a commemorative week from September 21 to 25. Held at the Horto Florestal Tote Garcia, the event features free activities, including a local market for natural products and family farming.

URPICS, which operates under the Cuiabá Municipal Health Secretariat, works to strengthen the integration of traditional knowledge and nature within the Unified Health System (SUS). The unit's activities are supported by Municipal Law No. 6.296/2018 and the FitoViva Program, which focuses on the therapeutic use of medicinal plants.

Services are available to individuals aged 18 and older. Access is provided through individual reception, where therapists assess patient profiles, or via referrals from Basic Health Units (UBS) and Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS). Offered therapies include auriculotherapy, aromatherapy, reiki, chromotherapy, and community integrative therapy. Group activities such as art therapy and therapeutic breakfasts are also part of the program.
