Cuiabá health unit suspends services after nurse injured by falling tree
A nurse at the USF Lixeira Baú health unit in Cuiabá was injured on Thursday (17) when a tree fell on the facility during heavy rain. The Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS) reported that the professional is stable and conscious, suffering only from minor abrasions.
Authorities suspect that lightning may have struck the tree, causing it to fall. The Fire Department and police were called to secure the site. As a safety precaution, the health unit will suspend all services this Friday (18).
The SMS is arranging a temporary location for the medical teams to ensure service continuity. Patients with scheduled appointments, exams, or procedures for Friday will have their visits rescheduled, with new dates to be communicated later.
