Cuiabá holds inclusive education event for professionals

The Cuiabá Municipal Education Secretariat held the “Inclusive Special Education: Dialogues in Network” event, bringing together approximately 150 professionals at the Maestro China auditorium. The meeting concluded a cycle of activities conducted in partnership with the Institute of the Blind of Mato Grosso (Icemat).

The event focused on exchanging experiences, presenting pedagogical practices, and planning actions for 2027 based on insights gained throughout 2026. Currently, the municipality serves 55 students with visual impairments. The partnership has provided teachers in multifunctional resource rooms with practical experience regarding the daily realities of visually impaired individuals, as well as specific knowledge of Braille and its application in the learning process.

The program included a performance by the band Os Bengalas, composed of visually impaired individuals affiliated with Icemat, highlighting professional development and artistic possibilities for people with disabilities.
