Cuiabá hosts 21st FETRAN traffic safety student theater festival

The 21st edition of the Festival Estudantil Temático de Trânsito (FETRAN) is currently taking place in Cuiabá, using theatrical performances to promote traffic safety awareness among students. Organized by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) in partnership with the State Department of Education (Seduc-MT), the State Transit Department (Detran-MT), and local municipalities, the event features eight theatrical productions.

The Cuiabá stage serves as the conclusion of the regional circuit, which has already included several other regions in Mato Grosso. Three winning schools from this stage will advance to the state final, scheduled to be held at the Cine Teatro Cuiabá between August 31 and September 4.

Organizers emphasized the educational importance of the project, noting that children act as multipliers of safety information within their families. The initiative comes amid concerns regarding road violence in Mato Grosso, where authorities reported 147 deaths on roads and urban streets in 2026.
