Cuiabá hosts 24th Orchid and Desert Rose Festival
The 24th edition of the Orchid and Desert Rose Festival begins this Thursday at Praça Alencastro in downtown Cuiabá. Running until Sunday, the event features approximately 5,000 plants, including orchids, desert roses, cacti, and succulents.
Organized by the Cuiabá City Hall through the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (SORP), the festival also includes a Family Agriculture Fair organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture and Labor. The event offers acclimated plants prepared for growth outside greenhouse conditions.
Organizers expect the festival to generate over R$ 1 million in total economic movement. While direct sales during the four-day event are estimated to exceed R$ 500,000, the total impact includes indirect business for local nurseries, florists, and gardening supply stores.
