Cuiabá hosts cultural events on art, feminism, and traditional ceramics

Cuiabá hosted several cultural events focused on tradition, social transformation, and sustainability. The ELLA Centro-Oeste gathering brought together artists and cultural producers to discuss the intersection of art, climate, and power. Participants explored how creative choices and personal experiences can serve as tools for political influence and narrative shifts, with specific focus on female protagonism and ancestrality.

Simultaneously, the 1st Meeting of Ceramists of Mato Grosso took place, uniting traditional masters, indigenous ceramists, and researchers. Organized by Ponto de Cultura Mãos de Barro and Instituto Ecoss, the event emphasized the preservation of cultural identity and the transmission of knowledge across generations. The program included workshops on traditional ceramic painting and Wauja indigenous techniques, alongside discussions involving Karajá, Wauja, and Juruna representatives regarding the challenges of maintaining these crafts.
