Cuiabá implements new drainage network in Shangri-Lá

The City Hall of Cuiabá is implementing a new drainage network on Samatra Street in the Shangri-Lá neighborhood, located in the Coxipó region. The project, managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Works, aims to improve rainwater runoff and reduce the risk of water accumulation near the local square.

The intervention involves installing 80 meters of piping with 60-centimeter diameter manilles and constructing a new receiving box. According to works coordinator Magno Braga, an engineering inspection revealed that existing structures were damaged, causing blockages and overflows.

The new network will be installed alongside the current piping to avoid the need to open the asphalt in certain sections. It is designed to collect water from approximately 10 to 15 storm drains, including runoff from the higher parts of the neighborhood, to ensure continuous drainage through a new L-shaped connection.
