Cuiabá implements school programs for environmental and animal welfare awareness

The City of Cuiabá is implementing various educational initiatives in municipal schools to foster social and environmental responsibility among children.

Through the Civil Defense Secretariat, the ‘Multiplicadores Mirins’ project provides guidance on preventing wildfires, fires, and flooding. The program also focuses on environmental preservation, teaching students about the impacts of air pollution and how improper waste disposal can obstruct drainage systems and cause flooding.

Simultaneously, the Secretariat of Animal Welfare is conducting the ‘Educapet’ project. This initiative teaches students about animal protection, basic care, and how to identify and report animal cruelty. During these sessions, students participate in the ‘Juramento do Protetor Mirim’ (Junior Protector Oath), committing to the care and protection of animals.
