Cuiabá launches LED lighting modernization in Dom Aquino
The Mayor of Cuiabá, Abilio Brunini, has launched a new phase of the ‘Ilumina Mais Cuiabá’ program in the Dom Aquino neighborhood. The initiative aims to modernize 868 public lighting points using LED technology.
This project is a partnership between the Cuiabá City Hall and the Government of Mato Grosso through the ‘MT Iluminado’ agreement. The modernization effort is expected to be completed by September 14, utilizing four teams and four trucks. Beyond infrastructure, the project is intended to enhance regional security, with plans to integrate the ‘Vigia Mais’ video monitoring program.
The transition to 150-watt LED luminaires is projected to significantly reduce energy consumption. Current monthly usage of 55.5 thousand kWh is expected to drop to approximately 20.9 thousand kWh, representing a 62.3% reduction. This change is estimated to save roughly R$ 205.5 thousand in annual energy expenses for the neighborhood.
