Brazilian municipalities launch rabies vaccination campaigns
Several Brazilian municipalities are conducting rabies vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats to prevent the spread of the virus.
In São Gonçalo, a campaign aims to vaccinate approximately 120,000 animals across two stages, with the first stage utilizing 64 vaccination points. In Cuiabá, health authorities integrated rabies shots into a broader 'Multivaccination Day,' which also included pet adoption initiatives and educational activities regarding zoonoses and other diseases.
Diamantino reported the vaccination of 1,197 animals during a recent mobilization and has established a fixed vaccination point. Meanwhile, Campo Grande implemented fixed vaccination sites in the Nova Lima region to assist residents who missed door-to-door visits, while continuing house-to-house efforts in other neighborhoods.
