Cuiabá names Edson Brasil Secretary of Infrastructure and Works

Mayor Abílio Brunini of Cuiabá officially appointed engineer Edson Nivaldo Brasil de Oliveira as the municipal Secretary of Infrastructure and Works on 5 April, with the appointment taking effect on 6 April. The new secretary will oversee ongoing urban projects, including road paving, drainage, construction, and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure.

Edson Brasil brings more than a decade of experience in public‑sector infrastructure, having served in the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics of Mato Grosso, coordinated the BRT project in Cuiabá, and managed works related to the 2014 World Cup. He holds a civil engineering degree from UFMT, a law degree from UNIC, a master’s in BIM Management, and several specializations in road engineering, safety, and public administration. The mayor highlighted that the appointment aims to ensure continuity of strategic works that improve residents’ quality of life.
