Cuiabá implements new health protocols and administrative alerts

The City of Cuiabá has implemented several administrative measures and health alerts. The Municipal Health Secretariat reported that between January and October 2026, the Municipal Hospital of Cuiabá recorded 210 burn admissions. Notably, 38.1% of these cases involved accidents with alcohol or ethanol used on 'discos de arado' (repurposed agricultural discs used for cooking), prompting calls for increased prevention.

Regarding medical protocols, the city has established new guidelines for treating unaccompanied minors at UPAs and the Pedra 90 Polyclinic. The protocol ensures that emergency care is provided immediately regardless of a guardian's presence, while also defining specific procedures for adolescents based on their capacity for discernment.

In social services, the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance issued an alert against fraudulent charges, stating that no public official or contractor is authorized to request payments or gifts for accessing social benefits. Additionally, the regulatory agency Cuiabá Regula has intensified inspections of Águas Cuiabá, issuing numerous notifications and infraction notices regarding poor asphalt restoration and sidewalk conditions following water and sewage works.
