Cuiabá to launch direct international flights to Buenos Aires in 2027

Starting in January 2027, Cuiabá will host its first regular international passenger route, connecting Marechal Rondon International Airport in Várzea Grande directly to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The weekly service will be operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas, allowing travelers to bypass connections in São Paulo or other Brazilian hubs.

The initiative is supported by a state financial incentive program established under State Law No. 13.191/2025, which offers up to R$ 10 million annually to airlines that create or expand international flights in Mato Grosso. This policy aims to boost global integration, reduce travel bureaucracy, and attract more investors and tourists to the region, particularly to the Pantanal.

To prepare for international status, the airport concessionaire, Centro-Oeste Airports (COA), has invested over R$ 290 million in modernization and expansion works. The state government views the new route as a catalyst for local sectors, including hospitality, food services, and transport.
