Culiacán International Airport reports passenger growth
Culiacán International Airport reported an increase in passenger traffic during June and July compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), the airport saw over 373,000 passengers during these two months, marking a growth of approximately 3%.
July showed the most significant recovery with a growth rate exceeding 4%, adding more than 8,000 passengers. Janet Tostado Noriega, the Municipal Secretary of Economic Development, noted that these figures represent a recovery following previous negative trends.
Plans are underway for a new terminal at Culiacán International Airport, scheduled to open in the second half of 2027. This infrastructure project is expected to increase the airport's annual capacity to 4 million passengers, aimed at strengthening air connectivity and supporting business tourism and economic development.
