Tepuche syndic David Guadalupe Ramírez González found dead after abduction
David Guadalupe Ramírez González, the municipal syndic of Tepuche in Culiacán, Sinaloa, was found dead on Friday, September 4, 2026, following an abduction by armed individuals. His body was discovered in the courtyard of a property used as a poultry farm in the Tepuche area.
The violence began in the early hours of the morning when armed subjects entered the syndic's residence. During the attack, his 48-year-old brother, Manuel Enrique Ramírez González, was shot in the head while attempting to prevent the kidnapping. Manuel Enrique was transported to the Hospital Civil de Culiacán, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
This incident marks the second assassination of a Tepuche syndic this year, following the death of Héctor Bartolo Zamudio Ríos in March. David Guadalupe Ramírez González had assumed his position in April 2026 after the previous vacancy. The Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office and the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense have initiated investigations and search operations to identify those responsible.
