Culiacán police seize four stolen cars and investigate shooting of 66‑year‑old man
Authorities in Culiacán, Sinaloa, responded to the discovery of a 66‑year‑old man, identified as José Antonio, who was found dead with gunshot wounds inside a home in the Ampliación 5 de Febrero neighborhood. The investigation involved the National Defense Secretariat, the Secretariat of Security and Protection, municipal police and the state prosecutor's office, which are conducting forensic examinations and searching for the perpetrators.
Separate security operations in the city led police, state preventive forces, the Mexican army, the National Guard, the Navy and other agencies to detain a man and recover four stolen vehicles—a white Honda Civic, a recently‑model Jaecoo SUV and two other cars. The seized vehicles and the suspect were turned over to the public ministry for further investigation, part of an ongoing effort to curb vehicle theft in the region.
