Culiacán security operations detain three armed men and shootout injures two youths

Authorities in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, carried out a joint operation involving the Army, state police, the National Guard, the Navy, and federal and state prosecutors. They detained three males, including a minor, after tracking a vehicle suspected of criminal activity. The men were found with an M&P rifle, an M4, an AVS‑K, multiple magazines, dozens of cartridges of 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm, and ballistic‑vest plates, all of which were seized and handed to the federal prosecutor.

Later the same afternoon, an armed group arrived in a white Nissan to the Ampliación 5 de Febrero neighborhood. The assailants exited the vehicle with long guns and tactical gear and opened fire on a gathering. Two young men, 16‑year‑old Jesús Andrés and 19‑year‑old Raúl, were wounded; a third minor was taken by the attackers. Security forces cordoned the scene, recovered a black‑green motorcycle and multiple shell casings, and opened an investigation.
