Culiacán shootings kill three, wound two in June 2026

On the night of 17 June 2026, gunmen opened fire in the Valle del Sol neighbourhood, south of Culiacán International Airport. One man was found dead on the sidewalk and a 26‑year‑old named Óscar was seriously injured with multiple bullet wounds before being taken to hospital.

Two days later, on the early hours of 19 June, a second armed attack occurred in the Plutarco Elias Calles colonia in southern Culiacán. Two 20‑year‑old men, identified as Jorge “N” and José Luis, were killed and a third youth was wounded. Both incidents involved high‑calibre firearms, prompted emergency calls from neighbors, and were investigated by the state prosecutor's office with bodies transferred to the forensic medical service.
