Culiacán deploys 200 refurbished buses for new school year
In Culiacán, Sinaloa, the Dirección de Vialidad y Transportes has completed the first phase of a bus refurbishment program. Marco Antonio Osuna Moreno inspected 200 upgraded urban transport units, which are being reintegrated into service to coincide with the start of the 2026-2027 school year. These units feature improved mechanical conditions, new bodywork, and enhanced safety technology, including GPS, interior cameras, and panic buttons. The government aims to eventually refurbish a total of 600 units.
Separately, the Servicio de Administración Tributaria del Estado de Sinaloa (SATES) has announced several vehicle regularization programs for the month of September. These include the return of the 'Licencia Permanente' (Permanent License) for a fee of $2,323.00, the 'Ponte al Corriente' program for settling debts on older vehicles, and the 'Baja Definitiva' program for formally decommissioning vehicles no longer in circulation.
