Culinary education developments in Brazil and Portugal

In Brazil, the Ministry of Education (MEC) has evaluated several distance learning gastronomy courses. Among the 55 institutions offering the program, nine have received MEC evaluations. The Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS) leads the ranking with a continuous CPC score of 4.598, followed by Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS) and Centro Universitário Opet.

In Portugal, work is progressing on a Specialized Technological Center for the restoration sector in São Brás de Alportel. The project involves the remodeling and expansion of the Academia dos Sabores at the Escola Secundária José Belchior Viegas. Funded in part by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the project includes equipping the space with specialized kitchen tools to improve professional training in the culinary field.
