Culinary traditions celebrated in Monagas and Guatemala
In Monagas, Venezuela, various educational institutions, community sectors, and gastronomes gathered at the Bolivariana University of Venezuela (UBV) in Maturín to celebrate National Tequeño Day and International Chef Day. The event featured a display of over 600 tequeños, aiming to promote local culinary development and honor the snack as an icon of Venezuelan identity.
In Guatemala, preparations are underway for the traditional dish fiambre ahead of the Day of All Saints on November 1. Recognized as National Cultural Heritage, fiambre is a complex cold salad that can contain between 18 and over 60 ingredients, including meats, cheeses, and vegetables. The dish serves as a significant cultural ritual, bringing families together to prepare recipes passed down through generations.
