Cullera hosts the 3rd World Rice Biennial

The 3rd World Rice Biennial (Bienal Mundial del Arroz) has commenced in Cullera, Spain, positioning the municipality as a gastronomic capital. The event celebrates rice as a central element of Valencian identity, a driver for the hospitality industry, and a staple of high cuisine.

The program features a wide range of activities, including culinary demonstrations, lectures, workshops, and tastings. Notable participants include chef Begoña Rodrigo and José Palacios, president of Artesanos del Arroz. The event aims to bridge the gap between traditional agricultural knowledge and modern culinary creativity, showcasing the product from the rice fields to professional kitchens.

In addition to professional showcookings, the festival includes family-oriented activities such as workshops for students and local tastings of organic wines, oils, and traditional products. The event seeks to consolidate Cullera’s gastronomic recognition both within the Valencian Community and on an international scale.
