Cullman and Morris County proclaim October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Local government officials in Cullman, Alabama, and Morris County, New Jersey, have proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The proclamations aim to raise awareness, support survivors, and recognize organizations dedicated to preventing abuse.

In Cullman, Mayor Woody Jacobs highlighted the work of The Willow Path, an organization that has provided emergency shelter, counseling, and legal advocacy in Cullman County since 1991. The city is also encouraging community participation in National Wear Purple Day on October 22nd.

In Morris County, the Board of County Commissioners recognized JBWS for its 50 years of service. The proclamation emphasized the partnership between JBWS and local law enforcement, specifically noting the Crisis Response Team which provides immediate support and safety planning to victims following domestic violence incidents.
