Cullman Christkindlmarkt named one of top 10 U.S. Christmas markets

The Cullman Christkindlmarkt in North Alabama has been named one of the 10 coolest Christmas markets in the United States for 2026 by Travel + Leisure. It is the only market in the South to receive this recognition.

Governor Kay Ivey described the market as a “remarkable Alabama tourism success story,” noting its ability to attract visitors from all 50 states while celebrating the city's German heritage. The market was previously named the 2026 Event of the Year by the Alabama Tourism Department.

Additionally, Cullman was selected as one of 25 finalists in Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Towns Contest. A winner, which may include the opportunity to serve as a filming location for a Hallmark movie, is expected to be announced around October 31.
