Culmia and MEAG form SOCIMI for Spanish affordable housing platform

Culmia and MEAG, the asset manager for Munich Re, have established Vifford Holdco Spain Socimi to manage their affordable housing platform in Spain. The new entity will serve as the Spanish headquarters for the vehicle, which is backed by the Luxembourg-based parent company Vifford SCSp.

As a SOCIMI, the company is legally required to list on a regulated stock market within the next two years to maintain its tax status. While the specific exchange and timeline have not been confirmed, potential markets include BME or Euronext.

The partnership, originally announced in February, aims to manage a portfolio of over 2,500 affordable rental homes with an estimated investment volume of approximately 400 million euros. MEAG holds a 50% stake in the platform.
