Culmia to invest 455 million euros in Catalonia housing
Culmia has announced plans to invest 455 million euros in housing developments in Catalonia through 2030. The real estate developer aims to create 1,830 homes, including 800 protected housing units, across 24 new projects.
The company’s broader strategy for Catalonia, the Levante region, and the Balearic Islands involves total investments exceeding 690 million euros for 2,800 homes currently under development. According to territorial director Josep María Cases, the investment addresses a supply shortage relative to demand.
Culmia is focusing on urban regeneration and public-private partnerships to access land that is often unavailable to the free market. Key projects include La Marina del Prat Vermell in Barcelona, which utilizes a mixed model of offices, market-rate housing, protected housing, and build-to-rent units. The company is also looking toward industrial reconversion in areas such as Sagrera and 22@.
