Cult of Luna releases new album In the Shadow of Your Shadow

Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna has released their latest album, In the Shadow of Your Shadow. The record is described as an atmospheric and expansive work that explores themes of loss, resentment, and inner darkness through dense soundscapes and punishing riffs.

Critics have noted the evolution of the band’s sound, highlighting the vocal performance of Johannes Persson. The title track is noted for its calculated and unsettling delivery, while other standout tracks include “Sadness Will Reign,” which features Joe Duplantier of Gojira, and the twelve-minute epic “Breach.”

The album continues the band’s long-standing exploration of progressive metal, moving beyond traditional post-metal tropes to create a work characterized by both emotional devastation and moments of euphoria.
