Cult of Luna releases new single ‘The Rift’

Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna has released ‘The Rift’, an eight-minute single serving as a preview for their upcoming tenth studio album, ‘In the Shadow of Your Shadow’. The track features a mix of atmospheric passages and high-speed segments, reflecting the band's blend of sludge metal, hardcore, and art-rock.

The new album is scheduled for release in early November via the band's own label, RED CRK Recordings. Guest appearances on the record include Joe Duplantier of Gojira and David Eugene Edwards.

Guitarist and vocalist Johannes Persson described ‘The Rift’ as an exploration of the human need for belonging and the consequences of social echo chambers. He noted that shared beliefs can create a sense of euphoria within a group while simultaneously deepening the rifts between those included and those excluded.
