Cult of Luna releases new single 'The Rift

Post-metal band Cult of Luna has released 'The Rift', a new single described by the group as the fastest song they have ever written. The track blends their signature scale and weight with hardcore roots.

The single is taken from their upcoming tenth studio album, 'In The Shadow of Your Shadow', which is scheduled for release on November 6 through the band's own label, Red Crk. Lyrically, the album explores themes of loss and the human experience. The upcoming record features guest appearances by Joe Duplantier of Gojira on 'Sadness Will Reign' and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower on 'One More Day'.

Johannes Persson noted that 'The Rift' addresses the loneliness of human experience and the drive to seek refuge in a collective, observing how shared convictions can deepen group loyalty while widening social rifts. The album was recorded by Daniel Berglund, mixed by Magnus Lindberg, and mastered by Ted Jensen. The band is also planning a tour between late February and mid-March 2027, including a stop in Barcelona.
