Cult of Luna releases second single from upcoming album

Swedish metal band Cult of Luna has released ‘A Way Back’, the second single from their upcoming album, ‘In the Shadow of Your Shadow’. The full-length album is scheduled for release on November 6 via RED CRK Recordings.

Co-vocalist and guitarist Fredrik Kihlberg described the track as an exploration of feelings of being lost, trapped, or overwhelmed by anxiety. The album features guest appearances from Joe Duplantier of Gojira on the track ‘Sadness Will Reign’ and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand on ‘One More Day’.

Produced alongside Daniel Berglund and mixed by guitarist Magnus Lindberg, the 71-minute album draws on themes of personal loss and past experiences. Band founder Johannes Persson noted that the songwriting was influenced by recent events that resurfaced long-buried memories.
