Cultural activities and new literary releases in Slovenia

The Brežice Library hosted a creative fairy tale event for children titled ‘Room on the Broom’ (Bi se gnetli na tej metli). Led by guest Barbara Lapuh, the session engaged young visitors through storytelling, interactive spells, and a workshop where children created unique ‘magic potion cauldrons’ using colorful bubbling materials.

In the publishing sector, Mladinska knjiga introduced four new translated literary works. Presented by editor Darja Marinšek and several translators, the new titles include works by Olga Ravn, Saša Stanišić, Leïla Slimani, and Anjet Daanje. Notably, Saša Stanišić, a prominent Bosnian-German author, is featured with his collection of short stories translated by Urška P. Černe, which explores life choices and coincidences through a blend of humor and narrative ingenuity.
