Elio Vittorini Literary Prize begins in Siracusa

The 25th edition of the Elio Vittorini National Literary Prize and the 7th Arnaldo Lombardi Prize for independent publishing are set to begin in Siracusa. The event coincides with the 60th anniversary of the death of Elio Vittorini.

Activities include a philatelic exhibition dedicated to 20th-century Sicilian authors and a special commemorative stamp release scheduled for September 11. The program features various cultural presentations, including a preview of Enzo Papa’s essay on Vittorini and Guttuso. The final award ceremony will take place on September 12 at the Antico Mercato of Ortigia. Finalists for the main prize include Erica Donzella, Rosa Matteucci, and Nadeesha Uyangoda, while Anna Mallamo has won the section for debut works.
