Cultural and design projects debut in Santa Catarina
In Santa Catarina, Brazil, new cultural and design projects are highlighting regional identity and heritage. At CASACOR Santa Catarina, architect Gabriela Herde of GH Studio has designed a 170 m² kitchen space for Brastemp. The project draws inspiration from 1970s and 1980s aesthetics, utilizing a warm color palette of wine, terracotta, and moss green combined with dark wood and leather to create a contemporary yet nostalgic atmosphere. The space also showcases integrated technology, including the B=Smart system and new appliances like a 11-service dishwasher.
In Rancho Queimado, a traditional German-style house built in 1934 is being transformed into the Casa da Cultura. After being abandoned for a decade, the property is being revitalized by entrepreneur Júlia Brum and visual artist Malu Nakid to serve as a community hub for art, memory, and local history. The center will host exhibitions, workshops, and reading groups, supported by local residents who have donated ancestral objects to a community library and memory room. The official inauguration is scheduled for October 10, 2026.
