Cultural and environmental heritage initiatives launched in Italy

In Randazzo, the Anthropos project is set to launch on September 13 at the Hederarium botanical garden. Organized by the association ‘Custodi del Territorio’, the initiative aims to preserve and promote traditional artisanal knowledge. The project features an exhibition and talk showcasing contemporary artists and artisans who use local Sicilian materials—such as stone, iron, clay, and textiles—to express territorial identity. The event includes dialogues between local experts and scholars to foster entrepreneurship and connection with younger generations.

In Lombardy, ecological volunteer guards (GEV) from the Parco delle Groane, Parco Nord Milano, and Parco Adda Nord participated in a training session focused on ‘Heritage Interpretation’. Led by consultant Vanessa Vaio, the course aimed to move beyond simple information sharing to create meaningful connections between citizens and natural environments. The training emphasizes the role of guards as communicators who help protect natural heritage by teaching visitors to value and understand their surroundings.
