Cultural and heritage restoration projects underway in Venezuela

Various restoration and cultural initiatives are progressing in Venezuela. In Maracaibo, the Alejandro Borges stadium is undergoing architectural modernization and rehabilitation. As part of this project, the Luis Aparicio Montiel Museum is being inaugurated to preserve regional sports history. The museum will house approximately 270 historical items, including a sculpture of the hand of Luis Aparicio, the only Venezuelan in the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.

In Valencia, the municipal government is executing the ‘Plan Venezuela Renace’ to rehabilitate the Valencia Cathedral. The project follows structural damage caused by earthquakes in June. Restoration efforts include repairing the two facade towers, renewing the air conditioning system, and modernizing lighting and painting. The works aim to preserve the architectural heritage and revitalize the historic center ahead of religious celebrations in November.
