Cultural and historical lectures scheduled for late 2026

A series of cultural and historical events is scheduled to take place between November 2026 and May 2027. In Niort, France, Daniel Courant will lead conferences on the history of local cemeteries and funerary art, as well as guided tours focusing on the architect Pierre-Théophile Segretain and his work on the Saint-André and Saint-Hilaire churches.

Other religious and heritage events include a discovery session on Saint Macrine in Magné, a study of the figures of holiness at Saint-Étienne church, and a roundtable discussion regarding religious life in Niort. A pilgrimage for neophytes is also planned for April 2027 at the Sainte-Macrine Chapel.

Additionally, La Fabrique des Savoirs, in partnership with the Champollion Museum, will host a lecture by Florian Réveilhac on November 5, 2026. The presentation will examine the decipherment of the extinct Lycian language, exploring how scholars reconstruct ancient languages through fragmentary inscriptions found in Anatolia.
