Cultural and historical tours organized in German-Czech border region

Various cultural and historical events are scheduled in the German-Czech border region. In Grünau, a bicycle tour was held as part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the district. The tour included visits to the Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig, the Karl-Heine-Kanal, and various community gardens and parks. Exhibitions regarding gardens and life in large residential areas are available at the forum through mid-January 2027.

Additionally, the Bärnau-Tachov History Park has organized a guided 20-kilometer hike along the historic Golden Road. Scheduled for September 27, 2026, the trek follows the medieval trade route from Bärnau in Germany across the border to Tachov in the Czech Republic. The tour aims to showcase the history of merchants and messengers who traveled between Nuremberg and Prague approximately 600 years ago.
