Cultural and hobbyist events held in Osaka and Tokyo

Various niche cultural and hobbyist events were held in Japan, ranging from literary gatherings to specialized fishing discussions.

In Osaka, the ‘Urusei Honya’ event took place at the Grand Salon Jusan cabaret, a location also used as a filming site for the movie ‘Kokuhou’. Organized by Ryo Konishi of Shukan Magari, the event attracted approximately 600 attendees. The gathering focused on a ‘noisy bookstore’ concept where participants brought books and personal items—such as Tamagotchis or figurines—to discuss their interests in a social setting. The event featured various themed stalls and stage performances, including a Michael Jackson impersonator.

In Tokyo, the inaugural ‘Yotsuya Tsudan’ talk live was held at Yotsuya Books in Yotsuya. The session featured fishing experts Isuo Yamagata of TRY-ANGLE/Isuzu Kogyo and Juyosuke Iida of PALMS. The discussion centered on the evolution of mountain stream trout lure fishing, the technical aspects of manufacturing rods and reels, and the unique culture surrounding the sport.
