Cultural and industrial events held in Basque Country

The Gure Artea 2026 awards were presented at the Tabakalera center in Donostia-San Sebastián, honoring excellence in plastic and visual arts. The awards, which saw a 33.3% increase in funding to a total of 80,000 euros, recognized Itziar Okariz for her artistic career, Beatriz Olabarrieta for creative activity, and the self-managed initiative Kampai Espazioa for its support of emerging creators.

In Bilbao, the eleventh edition of Egurtek opened at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The event focuses on advancements and challenges in wood construction and architecture. The program includes a congress featuring national and international experts, technical sessions organized by Baskegur addressing industrialization and fire safety, and an exhibition area featuring approximately 80 national and international firms showcasing wood industry innovations.
