Cultural and literary celebrations held in Colombia and Guatemala

Various cultural and literary celebrations are taking place in Colombia and Guatemala.

In Colombia, the 20th Fiesta del Libro y la Cultura is returning with a record 3,600 activities. Scheduled from September 11 to 20, the event will be held at the Jardín Botánico, Parque Explora, and the northern zone. The program includes author conversations, book presentations, workshops, and exhibitions, supported by a network of 269 organizations. South Korea will participate as an honored guest with 38 cultural activities led by graphic novelist Keum Suk Gendry-Kim.

In Guatemala, the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE) is celebrating its 92nd anniversary on September 5. The event at the FCE Guatemala bookstore in Guatemala City will feature book discounts across various genres, including literature, social sciences, and humanities. The anniversary agenda includes the presentation of “Gorriones Fracturados” by Gustavo Bracamonte, a chess workshop, a reading club, and a discussion honoring the life and work of Guatemalan writer Mario Roberto Morales.
