Cultural and literary festivals held in Mambucaba and Serra da Raiz

Various regional cultural and literary festivals are taking place across Brazil, offering free programming to promote local heritage and literature.

In the Vila Histórica de Mambucaba, Angra dos Reis, the 9th Mambucaba Literary Festival (Flim) is being held. The event features workshops, music, dance, and discussions on indigenous and Black literature. This edition includes a tribute to writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva. Local authorities noted that hosting the event outside the city center helps decentralize cultural access.

In Paraíba, the 8th edition of the Raízes do Brejo Cultural Route begins in Serra da Raiz. The festival focuses on the theme “Between letters and struggles: female protagonism in literature” and includes performances such as a show about Carolina Maria de Jesus. The circuit will eventually move through several other municipalities in the region, showcasing local gastronomy, crafts, and history.
